We are commanded to wash our hands before every meal yet there is no specific order to use a decorative Washing Cup. Observant people wash their hands or just the fingers before reciting Birkat Hamazon.
We only use a Netilat Yadaim‚ washing cup‚ because of the strive of the beautification of a mitzvah‚ called in Hebrew Hiddur Mitzvah‚ that commands us to try and fulfill the Mitzvot‚ commandments‚ in a the most pleasant way we can.
Before washing your hands make sure that the hands are clean and free of anything‚ like rings‚ that will obstruct the waters from reaching the entire surface of your hand.
When performing the Netilat Yadayim one should fill a cup with water and pour twice on the right hand. The ritual has to be repeated on the left hand.
For lefties the process is reversed.
After the washing one lifts both hands chest-high and says:
Blessed are you‚ Lord our G-d‚ King of the universe‚ who has sanctified us with His commandments‚ and commanded us concerning the washing of the hands.
We have prepared a wonderful selection of beautiful washing cups‚ hand washing towels and Maim Achronim vessels that you will find here for you and as meaningful gifts.
