Dreidels & More

Allow us invite you to see our selection of beautiful Dreidels and some other interesting gifts for Chanukah. The dreidel‚ or Sevivon in Hebrew‚ is a four-sided spinning top that children play with on Hanukkah. Each side is imprinted with a Hebrew letter. In Israel we use the first letter of each word: Ness Gadol Hayah Po meaning a great Miracle happened HERE‚ while in the Diaspora it says: Ness Gadol Hayah Sham‚ as the miracle was there. Children usually spin the Dreidel for a pot of Chanukah Gelt‚ which are chocolate coins covered in gold colored tin foil to look like real coins‚ but they can also play for candy‚ nuts‚ raisins ' anything really! To read the rules of the Dreidle game please go to the link. Dreidels make great gifts. Kids and grown ups like to play with them and some collect them and have a different dreidel for each of the Chanukah nights. There are many dreidel songs. It seems that the one known best is Sevivon Sov‚ Sov‚ Sov by Levin Kipnis. Here the translation: Dreidel‚ spin‚ spin‚ spin. Chanukah is a great holiday. Chanukah is a great holiday.
